| ZRENJANIN BECOMES UNAVOIDABLE FOR SERBIAN AND GLOBAL DJs |

One of the more well known Belgrade back 2 back teams, Ultimate Grooves, made up of DJs Mirko and Meex, performed together for eight years and created a great atmosphere with their distinct sound. Through their years long work they have gained a lot of experience on performances at Belgrade clubs, as well as clubs across Serbia. They had the chance to share their mix stand with global names of the electronic scene such as David Guetta, Armand van Helden, Fedde Le Grand and others. A great performance is also remembered at the last years Zrenjanin music festival Soundlovers, when they supported German DJ and producer Kurd Maverick. This time, clubbers from Zrenjanin had the chance to become part of the atmosphere that Mirko and Meex made in club form.
On Saturday March 20th 2010, for the second official public promotion of the electronic magazine VSG, Ultimate Grooves performed at the theatre club “Zeleno Zvono” in Zrenjanin. It was their first club performance together in this city. The Zrenjanin audience once again showed that it has great interest in parties where Mirko and Meex perform. The evening introduction was done by club resident DJ Marko Popov. With his precise mixes and carefully chosen songs, he was preparing the arriving guests for the Belgrade DJs performance. So on Marko’s set the numbers “DJ Chus & Rob Mirage – Back 2 NY” in original version could be heard, as well as “Daniel Steinberg – Rush Me” in the Format B remix. He finished his set with the track “Antranig - Whores” when he gave the DJ stand to the Ultimate Grooves, who started their performance with the song “La Tromba” performed by Chris Lake and Lys. Their track list contained quality numbers of newer production like “Bobby Burns & Afrojack – Ghetto Blaster” in the original mix, that presented the news from the global production scene to the Zrenjanin audience. Along that, not so unusual for Mirko and Meex, at the audiences request they also played tracks from earlier days “Eric Prydz - Pjanoo” and “Sidney Samson - Riverside”, which caused great excitement from the clubbers. It was a clear sign that information, when it comes to electronic music, lags considerably with the Zrenjanin clubbers, and for that reason, visits of this type, as well as this year’s sequel of the Soundlovers festival, are of great importance to bringing Zrenjanin closer as a city to the global electronic music scene. This city continues to prove that and thus becomes an unavoidable destination for Serbian and foreign performers.
Among others, the electronic magazine VSG crew has organized a photo shoot for all the interested guests as a part of its promotion. Good mood and a positive vibe among the people of Zrenjanin could be felt at every moment. For all those who did not attend this party we managed to document a part of the atmosphere. |
