| NEW FESTIVAL ENVIRONMENT AT THE BELGRADE CLUB SCENE |

Music festivals organized at clubs are not that common on the Serbian club scene. New refreshment at the Belgrade clubbing scene is a three day festival “ReDiscover” which is organized at The Tube club. This concept of organizing a music festival, which covers multiple genres of electronic music, is part of a completely new offer when it comes to night life. Clubbers can in one place become part of the atmosphere which is unique for each day of the event, and is made up of many Serbian and foreign performers.
The first club festival “ReDiscover” took place on 26-28th November 2009 at the Belgrade club The Tube. On the first day band “Mistake Mistake” performed, who officially opened the festival. On that occasion, with the support MC King Ali Baba, they announced their new music video. Belgrade DJ and producer SevdahBABY performed next. With the voice support from Anette and Djix, visitors enjoyed live performance of the hit single “Ljubi me brzo zurim”, which just like the “Tri poljupca”, gained significant support on the Serbian music scene. Then, as the stars of the evening, LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad performed. Otherwise, this was their second performance at The Tube club. This time, just like December 2008, Belgrade clubbers proved that they will always have interest in these two performers. It is because of the atmosphere they sustained until the early morning hours. On the second day of festival, on Friday November 27th, British DJ and producer, Terry Francis performed, resident at the London club “Fabric”. He was supported by Serbian disk jockeys, Deki Milicevic and Peppe. Introduction into the third day of festival was made by Dave Floyd, whose set contained light house segments. After Floyd, Igor Puljic performed, better known as Pookie, who continued to give quality house music sound to already warmed up visitors. He finished his set with the track “Alfred Azzeto – Colors Are Forever” in the Luca Cassani green dub mix. Stars of the evening were London team The Shapeshifters. Max and Simon had prepared something for everyone, from the more calm melody followed by great vocals, to commercial hits of house music production. They stand as DJs who can maintain a great atmosphere, which they have proven that evening with their four hour set. On the set were track like “Bingo Players - Devotion” in the original mix, “Armand van Helden – Witch Doktor” in Eddie Thoneick’s remix, as well as their famous single “Lola’s Theme” which made them famous and brought them to European and global top charts.
The success of the three day Belgrade festival “ReDiscover” is proven by the fact that on those days The Tube club was filled to the last spot. Organizers showed that Serbian clubbing definitely deserves to have a music festival in club form. |
