Ivan Bozanic a.k.a. BataBoza was born in Belgrade (Serbia) on the 15th september in 1984. As a boy he showed an interest in drawing and coloring of cartoon characters, as well as „designing“ and assembling wooden cars in his dad’s garage. Those were the first signs of his creativity and inovation that he would exibit throughout all his future endeavors in life.
His spontaneity and cheerfulness was noticed by the director Vladimir P. Petrovic, gave him the oportunity to act in a children’s TV show „Otkrivalica“ in 1991, produced by Radio Television Belgrade. The time during filming of this show, was a new experience for little Boza that was full of friendship and funtime with the actor Dragan Jovanovic and his other friends. Later during elementrary school, he begins to take an interest in music. Serbian rock’n’roll bands were the first among his tapes. So on his shelves could be found tapes of „Riblja corba“, “Bajaga”, “Zabranjeno Pusenje” and other rockers. The love for harder guitar music developed in high school when he started to listen to heavy metal. Soon with his favorite bands (Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer) he came to love and soon play the electric guitar. In late 2000, with his friend Vujke, he forms the metal band „Skullthrone“ in which he performed in 2002, at the club of the DOB (Belgrade Youth Home), in the „Demo Festival“ for unestablished bands. However, the interest in guitar music was put aside by the interest in electronic music, which is present even today and dominant.
Boza is by trade a computer eletrical technician. At 17 he started working as a technician for computer networks and switchboards. Later working on television as a broadcast emitter and video editor, he met a lot of people with whom he is still friends with and cooperates even today. The great work experience, which he acquired in different companies, contributed quite alot to define his personality and create new ideas. So in time he turned more towards design and photography, that he devoted to his spare time. In late 2006 he started more serious work in multimedia, and signs his work by the name BataBoza.
In January 2009, together with his high school friend Nenad Hegedis he came to the idea to create the project Visual Sound Generation. The several month long realization of the project and time spent with Nenad, contributed to the idea about the electronic magazine for electronic music – VSG. |
